Dean of the Faculty of Science and Life Sciences at the University of Copenhagen, Bo Jellesmark Thorsen, has been appointed as the new deputy chairperson of the Climate Council. He has been a member of the council for two years and will now be part of the management together with chairperson Peter Møllgaard, rector of Copenhagen Business School, and deputy chairperson Bente Halkier, professor at the Department of Sociology at the University of Copenhagen. The Climate Council writes this in a press release.
The position of deputy chairperson was vacant after senior researcher Niels Buus Kristensen left the Climate Council. At the same time, Professor Katherine Richardson has also resigned after having been a member since the council was established ten years ago.
The two vacant positions in the Climate Council will be taken over by Marit-Solveig Seidenkrantz, professor of geology at Aarhus University, and Christina Tvarnø, professor of climate law at Copenhagen Business School. The Climate Council now consists of nine members, including researchers and experts within energy, environmental economics, construction, agroecology and climate law.
