Several parties' energy and utility spokespersons are criticizing the Minister of Climate, Energy and Utilities Lars Aagaard (M) for not setting an end date for heating with gas. According to a political agreement from 2022, all gas for home heating must be phased out by 2035, but the minister has failed to confirm this plan publicly. Municipalities and mayors have long called for a clear statement to support the rollout of district heating. According to critics, the lack of a statement from the minister creates doubts about the future of the district heating rollout. This is reported by Danske Kommuner.
- I don't think it's okay that the minister is not clear when we now have a clear agreement. If he has doubts about the agreement that is in place, he has a duty to call the rest of us to a conversation about how he believes the world has changed. Otherwise, he must stand by the agreement, says Dina Raabjerg, who is the energy and supply spokesperson for the Conservatives.
Speakers from the Radical Left and the Unity Party also criticize the minister and call for a political decision that can create clarity for citizens and municipalities. The Unity Party proposes a national map that shows where and when the gas network will be closed. Danish Municipalities has tried in vain to get a comment from the minister.
