The absence of bids for the offshore wind farms on offer in the North Sea shows the need for a more balanced approach to Denmark's green transition. This is what Danske Byggecentre writes in a press release.
– The energy we do not use is both the cheapest and the greenest. We need to use energy more efficiently, says Palle Thomsen, CEO of Danske Byggecentre.
By investing in energy efficiency, Denmark can reduce the pressure on energy supply, reduce dependence on Russian gas and achieve CO2 reductions quickly and cost-effectively. Measures such as insulating buildings, replacing windows and improving heating systems can also create local jobs and lower energy bills for homeowners.
– The lack of interest in offshore wind farms emphasizes that we cannot base our green transition on production alone. Energy efficiency must be placed higher on the political agenda, says Palle Thomsen, CEO of Danske Byggecentre.
If Denmark is to achieve its climate goals, it requires a strategy that both strengthens the climate fight and ensures a robust energy supply.
