Cowi is opening a new office in Dublin as part of a strategic focus on renewable energy in Ireland. The aim is to build a workforce of 50 within three years to support the Irish government's 'Project Ireland 2040' initiative and contribute to the country's energy transformation. The consultancy said in a statement.
Cowi has extensive experience with energy projects, including offshore wind and district heating, and therefore sees great opportunities to support Ireland's ambitions for a low-emission economy. The Dublin office will focus on projects that ensure sustainable energy development and better regional access to green energy.
- 'Ireland 2040' creates a unique opportunity for sustainable infrastructure development across the country. As Ireland commits to improving regional connectivity, transitioning to renewable energy and building communities around climate resilience, Cowi brings a wealth of expertise from other similar successful projects, says David Feighery, Head of Cowi Ireland.
Cowi has previous experience with large-scale energy projects such as offshore wind in Denmark and energy supply to major cities. The Irish government has committed to transitioning to renewable energy and reducing CO2 emissions, and Cowi sees a clear opportunity to contribute to this development through innovative solutions in sustainable energy.
- Cowi has built a strong track record in delivering sustainable infrastructure, from supporting renewable energy projects to improving transport infrastructure. Our expertise has helped shape a more resilient, lower-CO? future, and we are ready to bring that experience to Ireland, says David Feighery.
