The European Commission has today presented its Clean Industrial Deal, which is intended to strengthen Europe's green industry. Dansk Metal sees positive steps in the plan. Dansk Metal writes this in a press release.
- The green transition is both a necessity and a great opportunity for Denmark and Europe. At the industrial companies in Production Denmark, there are many blacksmiths, welders and industrial technicians who go around building the green transition. Here we have a strong position in Denmark. When the EU raises the level of ambition, it is naturally an opportunity to ensure even more progress in Danish industrial workplaces, says Dansk Metal's EU manager Johan Moesgaard Andersen.
The plan is intended to, among other things, lower European energy prices, shorten case processing times for green projects and strengthen Europe's innovation.
Before the European Parliament elections in 2024, Dansk Metal launched the plan Europe must be a production continent that shares the EU's ambition that the green industry of the future should be located in Europe. The Mario Draghi report from autumn 2024 showed that Europe's energy prices are two to three times higher than in the USA.
- The Mario Draghi report last autumn clearly showed that Europe must act now to keep up with China and the USA when it comes to technology and green transition. We have long called for this in Dansk Metal. Because even though things are going well in Denmark, we need to get the whole of Europe on board. The strategy from the European Commission is a good first step in that direction, says Johan Moesgaard Andersen.
