After a year and a half of closure, the Energy Museum at Bjerringbro will reopen to the public on Saturday, April 12. The museum's reopening is secured after it has received operating support from the energy company Norlys and the Poul Due Jensen Foundation (Grundfos Foundation), which will ensure its operation for the next four years. Norlys writes in a press release.
Norlys contributes two million DKK annually, while the Poul Due Jensen Foundation supports with DKK 750,000 annually for the same period. The museum has been closed to general visitors since the fall of 2023, after a long-standing sponsorship from Energinet ended. During that period, however, schools have continued to have access.
- The Energy Museum is an important contribution to educating Danes, and not least children and young people, in energy and the green transition. It is absolutely crucial that we ignite the spark in more young people as early as possible, so that they look towards the energy industry, and here the Energy Museum can play an important role, says Pia Wentzel, director of Amba Office in Norlys.
The museum is aiming to attract both locals and tourists when it reopens for Easter. According to the museum, there will be a focus on knowledge and interactive experiences, including experiments and trials in the indoor and outdoor exhibitions.
