The Port of Esbjerg has entered into a collaboration with the local investment company E. Bank Lauridsen Holding A/S, which is buying 10 percent of the port's property company. This is part of the port's strategy to strengthen the involvement of an external player and the development of the port's activities. This is stated by the Port of Esbjerg in a press release.
- We have had a desire to involve more parties in activities at the port to support our work with the infrastructure. This will increase external involvement, obtain financing and put more skills into play, so that we can launch even more projects in the future, says Port Director at the Port of Esbjerg Dennis Jul Pedersen.
The port's property company was separated in 2024 with this very purpose, and the collaboration with E. Bank Lauridsen Holding A/S marks the first step in the strategy. The new co-owner does not succeed any previous partners, as it has so far been a purely port-owned company.
E. Bank Lauridsen Holding A/S believes that the port's position as a key player in offshore activities in the North Sea provides clear perspectives. At the same time, the investment fits well into their strategy for property development.
- We have a desire to diversify our portfolio of property investments, and we see great potential in the Port of Esbjerg. At the same time, the port is run by visionary and decent people. We look forward to being able to support the general development of the port together, and also contribute with our experience in property development, investment and operation, says Per Bank Lauridsen on behalf of the family behind the company.
In addition to the partnership, the Port of Esbjerg is currently engaged in an extensive port expansion of 93 hectares, which is expected to be completed by the end of 2025. The project also includes new warehouses to meet the increasing demand. The port's strategy implies that more external players may become part of the ownership group in the future.
- There are many good reasons to grow together. We plan to have more people participate in this, says Dennis Jul Pedersen.
