BORNHOLM: The municipal council on Bornholm will decide on Thursday whether work on a business park in connection with Energiø Bornholm should be put on hold. Energiø Bornholm was put on hold by the government in January, and this creates uncertainty for the planned business park, which was supposed to attract companies from Denmark and abroad. The administration estimates that the project can be completed between 2032 and 2035 at the earliest and therefore recommends waiting for further development in the project. This is reported by TV 2/Bornholm.
- It is obvious for Bornholm to have it so that in connection with the Energiøen, when it comes, we can have an area allocated to the companies that want to benefit from the energy derived from the energy island, says Michael Almeborg, chairman of the board of Dansk Industri Bornholm.
In October, the business park was the subject of political debate, but ended up gaining a majority in the municipal council. The administration proposes that the work be resumed if there are positive signals from the Danish Parliament regarding the Bornholm Energy Island.
