The municipalities have taken on the management task in the green transition - here and now the municipalities' most important task is to move forward with the concrete climate work. And pay attention to citizen involvement as a vital element along the way.

This is what Laila Kildesgaard argues for in the latest episode of Leadership in Change, where a number of prominent leadership figures suggest challenges in public management and possible solution models.

With experience as municipal director on Bornholm and director in KL, Laila Kildesgaard works today as an independent consultant and advisor for, among others, the municipalities in climate matters. She highlights the municipalities as the central management function for citizen involvement.

- It is good that virtually everyone has set goals and talked to citizens and businesses. The important thing now is to implement some of all those plans, and get the right tools for it. It doesn't have to be rocket science to handle the climate action in the municipalities, she says.

- It is not necessarily some great, spiritual leadership that is needed now, it is action.
