Arla køber strøm af Eurowind Energy

Selling electricity directly from the park is a growing business area for Eurowind Energy, and now the company has succeeded in closing another large power purchase agreement (PPA). The company states this in a press release.

This time it is a returning customer in the form of Arla, with whom an agreement has been entered into that will ensure Arla 60,000 MWh of electricity per year produced by wind and solar from two of Eurowind Energy's upcoming energy parks over ten years.

-  Arla is a good example of how purchasing green electricity is a simple and effective path towards greater climate neutrality for a company. We are continuing to expand our many upcoming parks and are thus an obvious partner for companies like Arla that are ambitious when it comes to climate goals, says Jesper Schaumburg-Düring, commercial director at Eurowind Energy.

This is the second agreement between Eurowind and Arla. In 2022, the parties entered into a ten-year PPA for 137,000 MWh of electricity per year from the Nørre Økse Sø wind farm. With the new agreement, Arla will buy a total of just under two TWh of electricity from Eurowind Energy's energy farms during the agreement period, and thus an important contribution to the dairy giant's goal of 100 percent green electricity by the end of 2025. European Energy encourages other companies to follow in Arla's footsteps.

- If you, as a larger company, want to be able to guarantee that the electricity you use comes from renewable energy sources, then a PPA is the simple way to ensure that this happens, says Jesper Schaumburg-Düring.
