Venstre-politikere politianmelder Frederikshavn Kommunes forvaltning
It all started with an audio file, where a " target="_blank" rel="noopener">municipal employee urged to withhold information in a document review about the crisis-stricken Frederikshavn Harbour. It is an audio file that TV2 Nord was the first to write about what has triggered a police report.
It is Venstre's members in Frederikshavn City Council who have reported the episode. City council member Jens Borup (V) personally handed in the police report on 15 October - and DOI.dk has seen both the report and the police receipt. Jens Borup is very clear about why the Left group has now reported Frederikshavn Municipality's administration to the police.
- We have done it because both TV2 Nord and we in Venstre's group have not received all the emails that have been sent between the mayor, the administration and the port's management. It turned out that approximately 40 per cent was missing. of the emails sent, explains Jens Borup and concludes:
- There is something that the administration did not want to reveal.
The police receipt also shows that the report concerns actions committed at the town hall's address in Frederikshavn.
"On 15/10-2024, the police received a report about other abuse of public position/office."
Hope for new times under a new mayor
Jens Borup also believes that the lack of access to documents has something to do with mayor Birgit Hansen.
- It has all gotten worse since Birgit Hansen has had an absolute majority in the city council. Now we are trying to see what happens on Monday, when Birgit Hansen quits and Karsten Thomsen takes over the post of mayor, says Jens Borup, who, together with the Liberal group in Frederikshavn City Council, is waiting for the police's investigation into the matter.
Municipal director Thomas Eriksen has not heard anything about the police report, when DOI.dk catches him on the phone, he is on autumn holiday.
- I haven't been presented with anything yet, so I can't relate to it. It is up to the police, says the municipal manager, who has tried police reports before:
- It has happened two to three times in my time here as municipal director.
DOI.dk has tried in vain to get a comment from outgoing mayor Birgit Hansen (S).
