It has been 25 years since ADP was established as a joint port group for Fredericia and Nyborg. The goal was to join forces and create economies of scale – a strategy that continues to shape the company's development. ADP writes in a press release.
Since its inception in 2000, ADP has developed in step with the market and has focused on supporting Danish imports and exports. According to the company's CEO, it is precisely the ability to adapt that has been crucial.
– I am incredibly proud to be at the helm of an organization that has proven its agility and relevance in a globalized world since 2000. ADP has been on a journey of adaptation to constantly support Denmark's position as a trading nation. This has been evident with, among other things, the establishment of Taulov Dry Port, development of the ports and the formation of ADP Energy Infrastructure, says CEO. CEO of ADP Rune D. Rasmussen.
Most recently, ADP has expanded with the consolidation of Hanstholm Port in collaboration with Thisted Municipality. According to Rune D. Rasmussen, this is a natural extension of the strategy that was laid out a quarter of a century ago.
– Most recently, we have consolidated Hanstholm Port in collaboration with Thisted Municipality, and this is in direct connection with the vision that was behind the establishment of ADP in the year 2000. It is generally a development journey that we will look into more at ADP, and which can contribute to developing the Danish port sector in a stronger direction in relation to international competition, he says.
ADP also emphasizes that employees have played a central role in the development. According to the CEO, it is both the experienced and the new forces that make the organization robust.
– ADP would not be where we are today without our flexible and adaptable employees. We have a number of employees with long seniority who have contributed to a strong community, while ADP has attracted new talent as the nature of the work tasks has changed in connection with the development that the organization has undergone. The employees have been and are an indispensable part of our success and continued development, says Rune D. Rasmussen.
