Bravida has secured a major agreement with Energinet, which involves the maintenance of offshore facilities that transform power from offshore wind turbines to a voltage level that makes it possible to send the electricity to land. The work will last up to eight years and has a value of up to DKK 94 million.
Specifically, the agreement includes the maintenance of eight offshore facilities that collect power from surrounding offshore wind farms and transform the power from the offshore wind turbines to a higher voltage level – from 33 kV to 132/220 kV – that is strong enough to send the power to land through the transmission grid.
The agreement covers the maintenance of high-voltage systems, electrical systems, cooling, ventilation and sprinklers. The work is complex, as it is carried out offshore and requires extensive planning, among other things because access to the facilities is via helicopter or boat.
- We are delighted that we will once again contribute to strengthening the green transition. We already have a very good collaboration with Energinet on other projects, but what was special about this tender was that the award criteria were largely based on experience and competences. That is why I am proud that we have won this large offshore project. It proves once again that we are a strong and valued partner on large and advanced infrastructure projects, says Ole Høgh, Director of Region Infrastructure in Bravida Denmark.
Energinet is a well-known customer of Bravida, which has previously carried out maintenance of transformer stations in several Danish regions. The parties also recently entered into a collaboration on the dismantling and scrapping of high-voltage pylons and overhead lines in West Jutland.
